Havana Series | Los Azules
In June of 2019, I hopped on a last-minute flight to Havana, Cuba — a 30-minute puddle jump across the Florida Straits, but at the same time an entire world away.
It was a life-changing trip, and I came back with hundreds of snapshots.
Over the years, I've revisited the album on a number of occasions, but never knew what to do with photos because it felt hard to do the place justice. I ended up making some test prints a couple years ago, but still never knew where they should hang.
And today, I opened my flat file and just decided they needed to get out into the world. At some point I'll hang them in the gallery or get a proper exhibition for them, but for now I'd like to see if there's any interest from my friends and followers.
I hope you enjoy the snaps half as much as I enjoyed the trip.
The photo is 20"x16" (unframed) including the white border — signed and titled by Billy Kearins.
